CPCB questions air pollution study A Lancet study linking air pollution to an estimated 33,000 deaths annually, mainly due to PM2.5 levels in ten major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, may not be following the accurate methodology. It might be incorrect about the air quality challenges or mortality rates, said the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Cyclone Dana lashes Odisha, Bengal The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on October 25, in its 10 am bulletin, that the landfall process of Cyclone Dana, which touched the Odisha coast with a ‘severe’ storm, is complete. Firecracker ban can reduce nanoparticle emissions by 22% A study published by Delhi Technological University has revealed that strictly following the firecracker ban in Delhi from October 14 to January 1 can help reduce 20-22% of nanoparticle emissions.
