Apartment Complexes broadly face two major issues when it comes to Water Management. One, sustainable water supply to individual flats – entirely driven by borewells or tankers. And two, cost effective waste water treatment – under-capacity Sewage treatment plants and unclear regulations of Pollution Control Board stress out the Management Committee.

On 25th February, ApartmentAdda is organising a Water Workshop for apartment communities bringing together water experts and apartment management committee members together.

BWSSB can barely meet 50% of Bangalore’s demand of a more than a billion litres, with Cauvery water supply and borewells. Jayawanth Bharadwaj from Rainbow Drive, will talk about their success story in Water Tariff Structuring and Dr Dhanraj Chokappa, from Purva Riviera will share about how they turned their non-working STP around.

Workshop will include sessions by Dr Ananth Kodavasal Expert on Water Treatment and Author of KSPCB’s STP Guide and Ashwin Mahesh, Adviser Urban Affairs, Govt. of Karnataka and Trustee, Center for Sustainable Development.

As part of the success stories, Mr Shridhar from Ashoka Windows will talk about their just concluded project to install water meters in 111 flats – in full occupancy.

Retaining walls fail to provide flood respite for Mumbai’s riverbank residents

Retaining walls, built to prevent Mumbai’s rivers from overflowing during monsoons, have not changed much for residents staying along the Dahisar.
