Recently, I found that several of my older friends are unaware of their rights on Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC).So I decided to clarify about this. Here is confirmation that BMTC offers discounts of 25% to Senior Citizens. .BMTC cites 60 years, though the Hindu report cites 65 years.   The fact, however, is that most conductors do not give the Senior Citizen discount unless one is aware of one's rights and asks for it. It was late Saturday evening. I had gone to Brigade Road for dinner with my colleagues. I was taking the bus back home since my bike was sitting in the garage. It’s official. Namma Metro Reach 3 and 3a services from Malleshwaram to Peenya in namma Bengaluru will open for public use from March 1st, 2014. Urban and Land Transport and District in-charge Minister Ramalinga Reddy along with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola announced this on February 24th, 2014, at a press conference held at Rajajinagar Metro Station. The Chord Road, or 'West of Chord' Road as it is popularly known, is an important road linking Tumkur Road in the North to Mysore Road in the South Bengaluru.
