It was not a typical Sunday when people wake up leisurely for brunch.
Bubbling energy and enthusiasm radiated from Kanteerva stadium Bangalore.

Kanteerva
stadium saw Derbia Merga winning Men’s event and taking home a prize of
USD 1,55,000. The day belonged to the Ethiopians.

Mergia Asslefech – Winner of women’s 10k race

It was a good idea to have an exclusive prize for Indian athletes in men’s and women category. Kavita Raut from Maharastra was the winner in the Indian women’s category.

Participants were running like a storm. Nothing but energy and enthusiasm:

The best part was the Kingfisher Run-in-costumes: It made the entire day very colorful:

Center of attraction in the stadium…

People ran for various causes and issues ranging from national integration, support for disabled, fight against child abuse, piracy, recession, HIV, health, old age, human rights, cancer, tribal development, waste management, children’s education, women empowerment, visually impaired, physically challenged, environment and more…

One
of the winners of Kingfisher Run-In-Costume. This participant ran to create awareness about child abuse. She was heard
saying, “I am always like this, I do not know why they have awarded
me”. She was like a real clown and talking to all and creating
awareness against child abuse. A well deserved award.

Participants returned home after a day full of fun and low on calories.
