A few residents across the city have started planning to axe venerable Illupai trees also known as the Indian Butter Tree (Madhuca longifolia) in their neighbourhood. Chennai is among the top-10 cities in the country in terms of COVID-19 positive cases. The spread of the pandemic has affected all but two zones in the city.
