Soul, Space, Society – Bangalore As You See It

Participate in a photo contest to showcase the Bangalore that you live with, fight with and are in love with.


The Bangalore Chapter of AID is organising a photography contest, based on the theme ‘Soul, Space, Society’

The competition is meant to give photographers the opportunity to take pictures of the Bangalore that they love with, fight with and are in love with. If their picture captures the essence of Bangalore in a unique way, then AID Bangalore will to showcase it. 

Photographers are invited to submit their entries on AID’s Facebook page. The last date to submit photographs is 1st March 2014. 

The best photographs will be selected by AID Bangalore’s judges panel and will be put on display at Thalam Photography Studio, located at Level 2, 80, Krishna Reddy Colony, Domlur on 16th and 17th March 2014. That’s not all – 2 lucky photographers will also be adjudged winners and stand to win exciting prizes.

About AID India 

AID India is a non-profit, volunteer-based organisation committed to promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. To this end, AID promotes such efforts in spheres such as education, livelihood, natural resources, health, women’s empowerment etc. The Bangalore chapter of AID was established in 2001 and has been actively involved in various community initiatives.

  • Eureka Super Kids: Supporting science and maths education initiatives for middle-school kids from government schools in Sulagiri district, Tamil Nadu.

  • Zero Waste Management:  Helped introduce effective waste management measures in NGV Koramangala, to address Bangalore’s burgeoning garbage woes

  • EWS Ejipura: Supported relief measures for those affected by the EWS Ejipura demolitions

  • No to genetically modified food campaign:Conducted events along with other organizations to spread  awareness about GM food and promote safe, organic and local food.

  • Fundraising drives supporting North Karnataka floods, tsunami and Orissa earthquake relief measures. 

AID supports these initiatives in the firm belief that all development efforts should be designed, driven and sustained primarily by the affected community. AID volunteers continue to remain closely engaged with the community to ensure a better understanding of the problems and the solutions implemented.
