Kaikondrahalli Lake is in the news in our neighbourhood. Some of our active residents are working with BBMP Lake Project which is rejuvenating the lake. Dredging work is almost done and bunds on the side are getting constructed. Meanwhile, a young Springfields apartment resident, Rajul Ramchandani, a student of Delhi Public School, has made a short video. The Agara and Iblur junction flyover project kick-started in October 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in a span of 18 months. The project includes three flyovers - two at Agara and one at Iblur. Dedicated bus lanes and grade level roads are also part of the project. BDA officials say that this project is to ease traffic between Iblur and Agara junctions, and also part of the BDA's dream project of making Outer Ring Road signal-free. I would not mind starting with a clichéd phrase for Bangalore - the city of lakes and tanks. But these days this lake city is making news because its lakes are drying up. Some because of waste dumping, some because of encroachments.
