No criminal cases against major candidates in North

All three major party candidates have law background, while one is a former cop. Who is the richest among them? What else do their affidavits reveal?

Bangalore North constituency – the biggest parliamentary constituency in Karnataka – is most likely to get a law graduate as its lawmaker this time – because three prominent political parties have fielded law graduates as their candidates here. And all of them are ‘clean’ with no pending cases. However, the similarity ends right here. The battle ground has a former CM with less than a year in office, a former MP of the same constituency but from a different party, a former law professor gearing up for his debut in politics, and a former police officer with a considerable stint in politics.

C Narayanaswamy:

The man who was responsible for breaking the Congress’s long victory march of decades in Bangalore North by contesting from JDS, ironically is now a Congress candidate. The fortune of this former MP has grown strongly in the last six years – presumably because of the skyrocketing real estate values in Bangalore. In the affidavit filed during 2008 assembly election, his total asset was Rs 2,11,00,000. Now it has grown to 24,79,52,597 – an amazing growth of almost 12 times, with a small liability of Rs 9 lakh.
