Bangalore One Centres will soon be established at all outlets of the hypermarket chain Big Bazaar in the city. There will 18 such new centres, announced Dr D S Ravindran, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for e-governance, at a workshop organised by state government's Department of e-governance on January 24th. Dr Ravindran said that, of the existing 76 Bangalore One centres in the city, 38 centres  work 24X7, and the rest work from 8 am to 8 pm. ⊕

Doctors and officials of BBMP Health Committee conducted an inspection on 3 January 2012.   Inspection at Kanti Sweets They visited Kanti Sweets production unit in Industrial Town of Rajajinagar. The owner was advised to maintain hygienic conditions in the unit and to use proper quality of food products while preparing sweets. They asked the workers to wear gloves and aprons while working. These cutouts, boards, posters and flex banners are spoiling the cityscape and are a punishable offence. Action will be taken as per Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act. Measures taken by BBMP to collect property tax above 1 lakh rupees from defaulters are being effective, especially the Drum Beating Program and announcement of defaulters names in various media. Bagmane Tech Park has paid 10 crore rupees of overdue property tax. Many other organizations and individuals are also taking this issue of paying the tax seriously even before BBMP issues notices and arrives in front of their buildings with the drum beaters to save themselves from embarrasment.
