The Karnataka Volleyball Association (KVA) is conducting a selection trial to select under-16 boys and girls for the 34th Sub-Junior National Volleyball Championship (under-16) for boys and girls which will be held at Perinthamanna (Kerala) from 1st to 6th December 2011. The selection trial will be held on 5th November 2011 at Sri Kanteerava Stadium, outdoor volleyball grounds, Bangalore. Former football player for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), C K Ranganatha, aged 61, passed away on Monday, 26th September at Vega Hospital in Malleshwaram where he was being treated. He is survived by a wife and two sons. He was cremated atHarishchandraghat at Srirampura the next day. Players from the football fraternity and employees of BHEL paid their respects. The boys’ and girls’ teams of Sports School, Kudige emerged victors at the Rotary Indirangar inter-school hockey tournament as it drew to a close on 3rd September. The final matches were held at the Karnataka State Hockey Stadium (KSHA) in Langford Town. The first ever edition of 6 Red Snooker Men’s State Ranking kicked on 25th August, at Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA) hall near Vasanthnagar. The Women State Ranking will be played from 27 to 30 August 2011.
