I stepped into the famous ‘Food Street’ in VV Puram and I was at once flooded with smell of hot vadas, and roasted Averebele. “Food Street” as the local community calls it, had been transformed into a culinary Mela in honour of Averebele, or cow beans. A few weeks ago, we, the residents of Brigade Millennium apartments in JP Nagar were alarmed to notice red markings on the external walls of the Millennium Avenue. These were the indications of the now familiar road widening plans of BBMP. Welcoming 2010!

The monthly first Saturday meeting of Manjari Ladies Association (a registered  non-profit social service organisation) which is based in JP Nagar was a special one to ring in the New Year on a joyous note.  All serious discussions were put aside and it was fun and gaiety all afternoon. Ladies dressed in their colourful best enjoyed and participated in the jokes, music, games, skits and so on. There was a partial lunar eclipse on December 31st 2009 - January 1st 2010. Though it  was a cloudy night on the eve of New Year, some parts of India observed partial lunar eclipse. The sky cleared a bit during prime time of the eclipse and I was able to take some photos at 2.40 AM from the terrace of my Chamarajpet home.These pictures were taken on Nikon D60 with 70-300mm Tamron lens, with Velbon CF tripod. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, convenor of the Agenda for Bengaluru Infrastructure Development (ABIDe) committee, has sent a letter to the chief minister B S Yeddyurappa indicating that he has been left with no choice but to resign, Citizen Matters has learnt. Chandrasekhar, 44, is also a sitting Rajya Sabha MP (Independent), representing Karnataka and Bangalore Urban.
