MP in the news

In 2018, Verma rallied in support of the farmers who were on hunger strike demanding the extension of ‘Lal Dora’ areas in the city. Lal Dora refers to land that is part of a village ‘abadi’ (habitation), and is used for non-agricultural purpose only. There are around 360 Lal Dora villages in Delhi and their population has increased several times. Hence, the farmers had demanded increasing the periphery of Lal Dora to accommodate the growing rural population.

Earlier this month, Verma was in the news for travelling in the Delhi Metro for his poll campaign. Verma interacted with the public in fully-packed metro trains and appealed to them to vote for the BJP.

In a recent interview to Millenium Post, he specified that his priority, if re-elected, would be to legitimise unauthorised colonies in his own constituency and in Delhi.
