She ran 3 miles to take initiative to good health. Prashanthi Nair, 34, a resident of JC Nagar said, "it is a good way to build up good health. One run each month will at least bring some positive change in our lifestyle."
V S Papanna, 47, a resident of Rajajinagar, ran to mark the world health day. He said, "I am planning to take part in all the 32 runs. That is the least I can do to spare time for my health in this busy schedule."

Ashish Kumar, 36, a resident of Indiranagar, ran because he promised himself that he will take care of his own health from now! He said, "Today is world health day. If everybody takes a step to keep themselves healthy, things will be different in the long run."
People were different, ages varied, reasons differed. Nevertheless, the cause remained the same. Wellness and good health!
Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation organised the 3 Mile Run event on Saturday, in association with Wellness India, coinciding with the "World Health Day" on April 7, 2012. This first 3-mile run was a curtain raiser to the upcoming 32 runs in 32 constituencies in Bangalore.
‘Bangalore united for wellness’ was the slogan of the morning. Dr. Thomas Chandy flagged the run. Reeth Abraham, International athlete and Arjuna awardee and the ambassador of the 3-mile run, ran along with the participant runners. More than 400 people participated in the run.
Elvis Joseph, director of Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation said, "This run is first of its kind. Running 3 miles (4.8 kilometre) everyday can become a culture and bring in healthy lifestyle. This run will unite the whole of Bangalore in one for good health."
The first competitive 3-mile run will take place on April 29, 2012 at Shanthinagar Hockey stadium.
