Pic: Satbir Singh. Some months ago, the road from Varthur Road (near Shell Petrol Pump in front of Siddapura Bus Stand) to Nellurhalli was repaired, much to my delight. It was otherwise marred by potholes which made my commute to work a tedious one. However some week ago, I saw few people digging the roadside to lay cables. The workers dug the stretch of the repaired road and never repaired it. Now the road is left with potholes again. I request the concerend authority to please look into this issue. ⊕

Jnanajyothi, the Senior Citizens Forum of Banashankari II Stage celebrated Women’s Day on March 15th 2010. It did so (for the 5th year running) by felicitating three women who have been contributing to the locality and society. The function, held at Bhageerathi Auditorium, BNM College, was conducted by the male members of Jnanajyothi. Welcoming 2010!

The monthly first Saturday meeting of Manjari Ladies Association (a registered  non-profit social service organisation) which is based in JP Nagar was a special one to ring in the New Year on a joyous note.  All serious discussions were put aside and it was fun and gaiety all afternoon. Ladies dressed in their colourful best enjoyed and participated in the jokes, music, games, skits and so on. The icing on the cake was the humorous Kannada skit  "Sanmaana Sukha", enacted by some of the committee members and very ably directed by Savithri Chayapathi, the secretary of the association.
