The third phase of the  'B' Division hockey tournament organised by Karnataka State Hockey Association (KSHA), kicked off on 24th August. After more than a month of league matches, the tournament is heading to an end. The matches are being played at the hockey stadium in Shanthinagar.The four teams to qualify for the third phase are - SAI ‘C’, DYSS ‘B’, ASC Boys and Jain College. As I walked past the market a week before Ganesha chaturthi, a wayside seller was bringing out from his shed large idols that he had not been able to sell the previous year, and was ‘touching up' the paint, to put it on sale again. He had a few more ‘leftovers', large and small, inside the shed, waiting to be ‘recycled'. I chatted him up, and got confirmation that these were indeed ‘leftovers'. It was 10 am on Sunday August 28th at Freedom Park when nine people who had remained on indefinite fast since drank coconut water. They ended their fast along with Anna Hazare in New Delhi. The first ever edition of 6 Red Snooker Men’s State Ranking kicked on 25th August, at Karnataka State Billiards Association (KSBA) hall near Vasanthnagar. The Women State Ranking will be played from 27 to 30 August 2011.
