Avail BMTC student bus pass now, online!

Now the applications for BMTC student bus pass can be filed online and offline. Read more to know how to skip the queue and get the bus pass!

A press note from the Information Department, government of Karnataka, says that BMTC is issuing student passes for the convenience of the students at concessional rates. An online system has been introduced this time, to avoid inconvenience to students like submission of documents and standing in the queues.

This system is directly integrated with the Education Department database, where student can directly apply through Education Institutions or directly by themselves through e-form.

Type: Upto 10th Standard – Applying through Education Institutions

Procedures to be followed to apply for student passes:

  • At the time of admission, student can directly request the School Authority for BMTC bus pass
  • Provision has been made in the SATS software to capture the BMTC bus pass request details uploaded by the School Authorities

Pass Fee:

  • The student needs to pay the processing amount to the school authority as follows:
  • Upto 1st to 7th – Rs.150/-

Delivery

  • Upon submission of application by the School Authority online through the SATS software, BMTC will print the Smart Card and deliver the same as follows:
  • Upto 7th Standard – To the respective School by BMTC staff
  • 8th -10th will be directly sent to the student to the addressed mentioned by way of post. Pass fee including processing fee to be paid to the postal department at the time of delivery as follows:
    • Girls -600
    • Boys -800
    • SC/ST-200

Type: Upto 10th Standard – Directly through e-Form of BMTC

Through Mobile using IVR options:

  • Dial 161 in mobile.
  • Next Select Kannada or English language.
  • Next Select 6 for BMTC services.
  • Select 2 for Student passes
  • Student pass application will be sent to the student’s mobile through weblink

Through direct web link

  • Alternatively, the student can also visit www.mybmtc.com and access the weblink for applying for student pass.

Application Process

  • Student will obtain the student pass application in the web link
  • Upon fetching of e-form, the student has to enter the Student enrollment number and Date of Birth.
  • Once the student enrollment and Date of Birth entered by the student matchesthe SATS database, the system will automatically fetch other required information from the SATS database
  • Once the auto fetching of information happens, the student needs to verify the information and enter parent’s mobile number &email id. In the event the data fetched is wrong the student needs to get back to the School Authority for correction of data before proceeding.
  • If the data fetched is correct, then the student needs to proceed to the next page for entering From, Via and To stops.
  • After entering the bus stops the student will have to upload his photo and the same shall not be more than 1 MB.
  • After completing all the above steps, the student may submit the application and he will be provided an Application number.

Processing Fee:

  • Upto class 7th, the student needs to pay Rs. 200 to the postal department at the time of collection of smart cards.
  • 8th to 10th the student needs to pay Pass fee including processing fee to the postal department at the time of delivery as follows:
    • Girls – Rs 600
    • Boys – Rs 800
    • SC/ST-Rs 200

Delivery 

    • For students who apply directly, the smart card will be directly sent to the postal address of the student by post and the pass amount will be collected directly by the Postal Department at the time of delivery

Type: PU Board – Applying Through Education Institutions

  • At the time of admission, student can request for BMTC bus pass to the college Authority.

Pass Fee:

  • The student needs to pay the processing amount and pass fee directly to the Postal Department as follows:
  • SC/ST – Rs.200/-
  • General – Rs. 1,100/-

Delivery

  • Upon submission of application by the College Authority online through the PU online portal, BMTC will print the smart card and directly send the same to the postal address of the student by way of post
  • The pass amount including the processing fee will be collected directly by the Postal Department at the time of delivery

Type: PU Board – Apply Directly through e-Form of BMTC

Through Mobile using IVR options:

  • Dial 161 in mobile.
  • Select Kannada or English language.
  • Select 6 for BMTC services.
  • Select 2 for Student passes
  • Student pass application will be sent to the student’s mobile through weblink

Application Process

  • Student will obtain the student pass application in the web link
  • Upon fetching of e-form, the student has to enter the Student enrolment number ,Date of Birth. Students name, Sex, Class, Address, College details, Telephone number, e-mail address, travel details and upload the photo and submit.
  • Filled application will be sent to the concerned college through online.
  • Colleges are provided with user name and pass word to validate the application.
  • Nodal officer of the college should review the application form and submit the certified application.

Pass Fee:

  • The student needs to pay a processing fee Pass charges as applicable
  • Provision has been enabled to make either online payment or pay by cash at the time of delivery to the Postal Department
  • In the event of opting for online payment processing fee would be Rs. 190 or else the Student will be charged Rs. 200.

Delivery

  • The smart card will be directly sent to the postal address of the student by post.
  • The pass amount including the processing fee will be collected directly by the Postal Department Department at the time of delivery in the event the Student has opted for cash payment.

Students should submit their application to avail student concessional pass before 31.07.2018, says the press note.

      I’m not entirely sure but I think it is your registration number/ roll number given to you by your college or school. Different institutions follow different conventions, but there will be a number that you can uniquely identify yourself with. This number is typically printed on your ID card. Does this answer your question?
