Mumbai has numerous dams at about 100 km from the municipal boundaries of the city. Yet many in the city do not have access to water. If you look closely at who cannot use this water, it is mostly people living in informal settlements and bastis. Vishal Jadhav is a social activist, who has worked extensively with the Pani Haq Samiti campaign. He is working on improving access to water for the marginalised through community engagement, public and legal advocacy. He currently leads a Fellowship program which name 'Doston ki Duniyadari' for honing and empowering young leadership across Mumbai’s settlements. He organised events about Constitutional Values for the youth. Vishal also completed a Masters in Water Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai in 2023.
