A Shankar Prakash is Senior Researcher, Environment and Climate Action at Citizen consumer and civic Action Group (CAG). He is a social and behavioural science researcher examining the intersection between climate change, conservation, environment, rural, wildlife and policing. He has received training in responses to environmental crime at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), Italy.

The Central Pollution Control Board and the State Pollution Control Boards are the primary custodians for preventing and controlling all forms of pollution in our country. Despite their significant role in environmental protection, the public is mostly unaware of the functions of these regulatory bodies, due to insufficient research.
